I am searching for information regarding staff infections and related virus' picked up in Korea. My husband who is an American, (I am Canadian) has lived with problems related to a virus he picked up while serving in the Korean Conflict.
In 1993 while working in a medical devises store, an elderley woman came in to order medical devices for her husband, a Canadian Korean War Vet. Her husband also had a virus they couldn't treat successfully until then. I got the name and address from her, but another staff threw it out on his shift unknowingly.
I tried to find information from the Canadian Veteren's Affairs but it went no where.
If anyone has any information on updates, or treatments to kill of such virus' it would be very much appreciated. The lady I met in the store said her husband was able to get an much needed amputation since the virus was finally and successfully dealt with. My husband is prevented from getting hip and knee replacement surgeries because of the virus he has in his leg bone.
He had damage done to his hips from war injuries and now osteoporosis/arthritis. The damage could not be repaired very well back then, but with all the new surgeries hope remains if a treatment or cure can be found.
Thank you Sincerely and Respectfully L. Patrick
