Dollar Challenge

Betty Prest of Marissa, Illinois thinks that raising money for a national museum for Korean War veterans should not be that hard to do.  "If every single person in this country who values his or her freedom would just send in $1.00 to thank a Korean War veteran, we could build that museum in nothing flat."  Betty's husband, Clifford, served in Korea from June 23, 1951 to April 1, 1952 in the 7th Division, Co. L, 32nd Infantry, 2nd platoon, 1st squad on Old Baldy, Heartbreak, and Santa Rae Valley.

The trustees of the Korean War Veterans National Museum and Library encourage everyone who reads this message to accept Betty's challenge.  There is no way to place a $$$ value on freedom, but this is a good way to show Korean War veterans that you care.  And, you know something?  You are entirely welcome to send in more than $1.00 to make up the difference for all those many Americans who so wrongly take their freedom (and the veterans who fought and died to give it to them) for granted.

Send your contributions to:

The Dollar Challenge, Korean War Veterans National Museum & Library, P.O. Box 16, Tuscola, IL 61953.

All Dollar Challenge money received will go into the Building Fund for the national museum.  All contributions to the Korean War Museum are federally - tax exempt -- even one dollar.
